Government statistics have revealed a 10% increase in foreign tourists so far in 2004, according to ArmeniaLiberty.org.
Still, at 33,000 in the first quarter the number is still very low. And ethnic Armenians are believed to be the vast majority of those arrivals. Tourism should be a good engine for growth, however, especially if those profits can be kept in the country.
