Next Up in the Caucasus

David Pillips (who serves on the Turkish-Armenian Reconciliation Committee) has this article at The Wall Street Journal the 'Velvet Revolution' and the border issue with Turkey.

It's a good primer on politics in Armenia.

The Karabakh conflict represented a departure for Armenians from their historic feelings of helplessness. As a Karabakh Armenian, Mr. Kocharian presents himself as a strong defender of the Armenian nation and appeals to the pride of Armenians that is born from their collective tragedy and shared suffering.
