Friday's protests

Just how many people turned out for Friday's protests? The BBC says thousands, while Associated Press say 10,000.

Not to be outdone, Reuters says (via Groong) the number was 20,000.
Whatever the number was, it was a significant protest. Even though they weren't given permission to hold the rallies, the police took no action.
