Election and my thoughts
I’ve been following news on coming presidential election in Armenia. I have no vote and do not have a favorite also. From one point, I think presence of former president is good, because it has shaken things, people.
I don’t say he is good or not, but he presents quiet different things which current rulers don’t and unfortunately democracy in Armenia is in no one’s basket.
But what is worrying, at least for me, is we have just two camps and no one stands in the middle. where do people who are not with either camp, stand? it might be wrong but is Armenia like Palestinian territories with hamas and fatah? where is our third voice? who is representing?

One of the most important missions that Levon Ter Petrosyan promises to accomplish in his presindency is de-monopolization of political arena. If succeded we all will have viable alternatives to choose

Levon Ter Petrosyan will de-monopolization the political arena like he did in 1994. Armenian is a small country whit a small elite running the country ,it is imposible to de-monopolization Armenia.

Monopolization does not necessarily link to size. Russia, Azerbaijan and other ex-Soviets are shortcut examples.
I am not an expert but can list several reasons of monopolization of Armenian political field such as:
closed borders and resulting clan economy, unbalanced foreign relations, poor design and low empowerment of derrivative state institutions, controlled Media, unresolved conflict, low public morale, etc, etc.

I think people have a twisted way of looking at the current government. If someone sees building newer streets and buildings and modernizing the capitol city of a country as a “bad” thing, then obviously they cannot appreciate what is being done by the current government. I have no reason to be on one side or the other in terms of politics. However, logically I think you don’t change something if it is working. If you were to introduce a new gang of people thirsty for power, the government will become more corrupt and we will take many steps backwards until the time comes when they actually start doing what is already being done today.
