What else does it take….?
Armenialiberty.org reports on some shocking news. A 44 year old father of 4, Jivan Hakopian, from the Armavir region, set himself alight by pouring petrol on himself and chanted anti-government slogans outside the main government buildings in Yerevan. He was taken to hospital but died later.
His family are not commenting, and the Mayor of his Village says he had no complaints made by Hakopian, but the Prime Ministers office has said they have recieved letters from Hakopian requesting loans to compensate for extreme loss of savings during the hyperinflation in the early 90’s, when many Armenian citizens lost their Soviet era accumilations. Hakopian also requested meetings with Gagik Tsarukian , and Stepan Demirchyan. The requests went unanswered.
This is a shocking incident to an extreme degree. What frustration and upset does it require for a man to leave his family and children behind , probably due to a truly helpless situation. It is difficult to speculate, but one thing is for sure - the government cannot cover this one up. It is a display of the true degree of anger and helplessness that one can encounter after a conversation with many an Armenian citizen.
It will be interesting to note how the strongly pro Kocharyan Public television will report this event.

i understand the sadness and the loneliness of his heart.
i would like to know how to find a good wife from armenia? do armenian girls prefer local men over people from the diaspora? do diaspora girls prefer local men over diasporan men?
loneliness can destroy a person’s heart. perhaps the government will not understand…

They like you guys, and you will understand why! Just, don’t do that dude! Once she see a female divorce lawyer here she will strip you out of your property. If you have a kid you will run to Armenia to get away from draconian child/spousal support in the US.

How old are you puppy? I have seen enough Armenian girls and went to couple of divorces to make my own judgement. So, I know what I am talking about. I personally know several real Hayastanci guys who made a fortune here and then get back to Armenia got married only to go throught ugly divorces, loose everything that they had and found themselves bankrupt. That’s why 60-70% of American man never marry. That’s why those who wants want to marry go around the World in an attempt to find someone that know nothing about the US Divorce Industry (hereinafter USDI). It is not because they can’t find willing American woman. Quite to the contrary most local w/n are dying to get married. But, with the law on woman’s side divorce will be diasaster for a man here.
Mr/Ms Hayastanci contrary to popular beleive in Armenia short time dating and casual sex in the US are common. My pithch was against the marriage as an institution. So, I hope you will never have to deal with USDI, we will leave you good Armenian girls and we will continue to enjoy “bad” Armenian girls here since it seems there are an endless suply of them.
