Armenian Territory Thru History
Coming Anarchy has done a neat map project displaying Armenian territory over time. Here’s the link. Somehow I guess that someone’s going to disagree with some aspect of it.

Those have to be the most inaccurate historical maps of Armenia ever drawn

with the exception of Cilicia, all the other maps are incorrect.
The best English-language source, I think, is Robert Hewsen’s Armenia: A Historical Atlas. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0226332284/qid=1133706980/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/002-7592053-2751232?n=507846&s=books&v=glance
The author would be well advised to compare with the source.

Didn’t Armenia conquer into Syrian areas at some point, probably in rather early history? Those maps don’t look so correct to me either.

vm,
I can personally vouch for the fact that Curzon knowingly “misled” the blogosphere into believing his maps of Armenia were accurate. My sources inside Coming Anarchy tell me that Curzon trying to export American-style democracy and the World Trade Organization, and is blinded by theocratic groupthink.

Question 1: what the heck do old maps of what could have potentially been or not been Armenian territory have anything to do with the WTO or democracy or America?
Question 2: Did Curzon TELL you that his maps were accurate or inaccurate?
I myself didn’t find them very accurate, but I left it up to the readers to pull it apart. This leads me back to question 1.

Katy,
Merely some light-hearted humor, in response to vm’s rather critical comment. That’s all
