Hrant Dink Sentenced
Editor of the Armenian newspaper Agos in Istanbul, Hrant Dink, was sentenced today. He was found guilty of “insulting and weakening Turkish identity in the media.”
The sentence was suspended, so he will not have to serve time in jail unless he repeats the offence. Dink says he will appeal to a higher court and, if necessary, to the European Court of Human Rights.
This is just awful. I was really afraid he was going to get jailtime. I would hope though if that had happened Armenians all over the diaspora would make some kind of outraged fuss, because this is totally unjust.

Paul, The man is a Turkish citizen. He was quoted out of context. The rest of what he say’s isn’t exactly endeering to the diaspora.
