I worked with two journalists from RFE/RL on this place in Yerevan and then with Hetq. http://www.hetq.am/eng/society/0410-arcaxi.html http://www.hetq.am/eng/society/0411-arcaxi.html We even included them in our exhibition at the beginning of the year in Yerevan but obviously, NOBODY apart from these missionaries did anything to help. Not the government, not the Diaspora, not NGOs. So, what can I say? The missionaries did something. You are right, Nanul. Usually, when someone prays, God doesn't just send it from heaven. I don't think if we pray hard enough, we will wake up one morning and see all the problems of Armenia gone away. What I believe is, prayers are necessary to bring all the forces, organizations, and people together who can make life better in Armenia. We really need some competition to shake Armenian Apostolic Church. This bureaucratic monster became part of corrupt system enjoying tax benefits. It forgets about its mission, doesn't care about the folks and looses its congregations to churches with more enterpreneural spirit. When last time you see Armenian monk come to your house to talk about God? The only thing they are able to do is to use government to protect their "monopoly." This what happens when you have "official religion" and its representative. I will say, let them compete. I personally like missionaries in Armenia.
